SHOWTEL is the only independent alternative art event of its kind: an annual one-night show of site-specific art in all media including installation, sculpture, video, sound and performance art. Each year, more than twenty artists are selected to transform hotel rooms into conceptual art environments.
SHOWTEL is the most infamous art show in Palm Beach County. An impressive 1200 people attended in 2008. The show continues to be the only recurring exhibition showcasing emerging contemporary artists from the area. Over 150 artists have participated in the past six exhibitions.
SHOWTEL has consistently received accolades in both local and national publications including The Palm Beach Post, The Palm Beach Daily News, The Sun Sentinal, New Times, City Link and Closer Magazine. SHOWTEL was featured in ArtNews magazine (Nov. 05) as an event that is changing and invigorating the art scene of Palm Beach County.
Hotel Biba is an ideal setting for a contemporary art event of this kind. Biba is a boutique hotel with an ultra-modern interior design and vibrantly colored or all-white rooms of varying size. The hotel is comprised of several single story bungalow buildings spanning one acre, connected by pathways and tropical landscaping.

SHOWTEL is the most popular alternative art show in Palm Beach County. Attendance from the first show in 2002 to the eighth annual show in 2010 increased from hundreds to thousands. SHOWTEL has been the only recurring exhibition in the area showcasing regional emerging contemporary artists who create cutting-edge artwork. Over 250 artists have participated in the show to date.
